Screaching 1st - 2nd gear

I hear a high pitch screach coming from the engine bay when I go through 1st and 2nd gear. It doesnt do it at idle and as soon as I hit 3rd or higher it seems to go away. It almost sounds like a loose belt, but im not sure. I have the emissions removed if that info is important. Anyone know what may be causing the noise?

You probably did hit the nail there.

But without actually being able to hear the sound first hand I donno.

Sometimes the tightness of the belt make a differece. There's specifications about how tight the belt should be.

You should check the condition of the belts. I found gaps in belts before where in some cases the belt has an excessive bald spot or is missing teeth.
