Turbo car, right? I drove around in traffic this morning and my EGT would go up to 700°C if I got to actually go about 55 mph for a mile or two. At a stop, I would watch the EGT go down closer to 600°C. By the time I got home, it was at 550°C.

I've seen it as high as 825°C on the highway while hauling-*** up to about 140 as quickly as I could and then staying there for a few miles.

In drag racing, it's all over with so quick that the EGT doesn't really go up much at all.

Yea, the 825 is also what Rotary Performance told me as a max when I bought the gauge.

There are things that can affect the EGT though. For example, when I had a larger turbine housing on the car for a while, the temps were lower. More lag but, lower EGT. If you have the stock turbo and you run real high boost like 15 psi, I think your temps would be kinda high. Leaning out at boost will send the temps up.

If your car is stock or close to stock, I sure would like to hear back from you with what kind of temps it runs.

After driving it again today, I see that my cruising temp, at around 45-55 mph, is lower than I wrote above. I never hit 700. It stayed at 625-650. When stopped at a light, it would go below 600.

therx7kid - I'm lost here, I've read your first post and I don't know what temperature you will be reading with the Greddy gauge. Is it the water temp, oil temp, exhaust temp or intake temp? MikeL is talking about his EGT (Exhaust Gauge Temperature) and that gauge is used to monitor if your engine is running lean or rich.

Yea, I did assume EGT. Geez, don't even try for 650°C for the water. That's WAY above boiling! 1202°F.

I'm sorry man, I don't know for sure what the water temp should be. I think maybe 230°F for a max.
