safc making ecu go crazy.

when i get in my car and tune the safc to like -15% at 1000 rpm every thing is fine. When I put it to 4 cylindar it is still ok but when I turn the car off and then back on again the car will just start reall quick then die. I can't give it gas or anything. I have to reset the safc back to factory defaults and bam everything starts working ok. What would be causing this. Thanks

Did you install the SAFC yourself? If you did (but more importantly, if you didn't), get out the manual, or go to the APEXi site and download the installation manual. Make sure that the two grounds that go on the same wire are not reversed, or too close to the ecu plug. I'm not sure if this makes much of a differance on a Mazda, but when i was tuning Hondas, if someone had the wires reversed or too close to the ecu, it would make the car go buckwild. Anyway thats kinda what it sounds like to me, but dont hold me to it.
Hope you get it fixed soon.

Yeah, there are two wires that go to a ground on you ecu. APEXi is very specific, that these wires (from the pigtail) be a certain distance from the ecu. Also one wire has to come before the other one. Here is the link for the online documentation from APEXi. http://www.apexi-usa.com/productdocu...s_safc_ins.pdf
Print this out and read it. It's on page 43- the brown wire has to come before the black wire.
