SAFC-II Help!!!
I have a '87 TII with a Walbro 255lph, Aeromotive FPR, RC1000cc & Denso 700cc injectors. I just got done doing a large turbo upgrade and am having difficulties with my SAFC-II. I bought it brand new. I'm not very good with these things. I just need a setting where my car is drivable until I can get a wideband in it and tune it. I drove it around a little but it falls on its face at 4k rpm and backfires like a ****. Can someone help me out with my settings and give me a good, safe baseline to work from. And if there is info in the "Super AFC" thread please post a link to it. I'm currently stuck on a 26k connection and have been looking for the freakin thing for the past 40mins.
Thanks,
Anthony

We can't really tell you what to set it at since everyones set-up is different. (even if we had the exact same setup) Your's especially, thats a lot of fuel down low. Your going to have to turn the fuel way down on low throttle. There are no safe settings, all zeroed out would be a base map as no adjustments have been made. But you added a lot of fuel. It all depends on the turbo and when boost comes on, how much hp its making at that rpm, and how much throttle your giving it at that rpm. If you need that much fuel and are planning on using all of it (i.e. high hp) you should probably go stand alone.
There is and S-afc Section.

Thanks. I know I need to go with an EMS and I will soon. I just want to see if I can work most of the kinks out of my turbo & fuel setup first. And see if it will hold me over until I get the money to do a rebuild and a Haltech or something. I was just having problems with the damn thing. Like it read 0% at full throttle and 100% at idle. I fixed that but I also would like to hear everyone elses setup instructions or tips.
Thanks,
Anthony

If you just want to be able to get to a dyno, use these settings:
Below 3800rpm: -21% (corrects 1400cc/min down to 1100cc/min)
Above 3800rpm: -35% (corrects 3400cc/min down to 2200cc/min)
That will get you down to stock mixtures BUT...
With these large corrections, you will be advancing the timing quite a bit, because you're telling the ECU that the load is lower than it really is. It might pay to run a little richer to be safe. This will also be the case in your final tune. As you lean the mixtures out you'll also be advancing the timing, so you need to find a safe compromise.
With injectors this big, you really should be looking at that standalone sooner rather than later...

This is not recommended on a stock ECU.
Good luck.

I know, I'm just trying to see if I can get it to run half way decent and just keep all the settings rather conservative. I have my own business I recently started and dumped all my money into after I bought nearly all my parts to build my car except for an EMS. So now I'm broke and just need to drive this around until I sell my WRX. When it goes then I can get my rebuild and an EMS.
