Replacing the hatch would have been a lot cheaper/easier than the metalwork he now faces.

True I guess that's the easier fix , though driving in the cold with duct tape as a window with plastic bags etc isn't any fun

I would have rather the hatch only or the truck get crunched. I have a spare hatch glass with working defrost, and the truck is just a work truck. Until now the 7 was straight except for one small dent in the door.

did it hurt the tree?

live and learn i guess, i suppose you will pay more attention to rotting tree limbs and trim them back. and if you have homeowners/renters insurance it should cover the damage(minus deductable). fixing that area is no novice bodywork job.

Fkn tree. Was anyone around when it happened? I'm curious if the tree made a sound..."Hey, I'm falling! A little help here!" LOL. Seriously, sorry about that. Hope you get her repaired better than before.

Yes hello? I'd like to submit a claim. Yes it's a 1988 Mazda RX7. Damage to the rear quarter of the vehicle. What's that you say? Ohh you said it's totaled? But it's only $500-$1000 worth of damage. What do you mean what's my point?

If the tree was dead does that allow the insurance company to deny the claim?

The tree has just filed a Claim with Elmbark and Acorn..Law(n) attorneys.
They are claiming the Rx7 had previous encounters with the Tree and tapped it in a sexual way.
Two robins interviewed said the Owner Was too CHEEP to store the car in a garage.

The lawyers are crowing about the Estimated Bluebird value of the car.The owner says it has had some mynah modifications.
