a sad day for the seven. won't start at d1. game over

The biggest irony was that the car didn't start when i was at D1 on sunday at the irwindale speedway. It drove there fine and didn't start after i turned it off. I'm pretty depressed but im gonna try to fix it one last time before i let it go. I'm not mechanically inclined but i'll check spark and fuel delivery. If its not any of that then i will call it quits and buy a honda... yea a honda haha. I really hate to see this one go.

if you're in the socal area and need a fc to rebuild/fix. everything is there no mods. bone stock. 95% clean interior. just tears on driver seat and radio bezel needs jbwelding or replacement otherwise it looks really good. Bought the car from an original owner family. don't think i'll part it out because i hate to see a perfectly complete car get split up.

i have a kill switch on my car for flooding issues that never failed. i turned the killswitch on pumped the gas peddle a few times. turn it off and voila it starts, but this time it didn't work lol. it sounds like the engine isn't getting fuel. it cranks but doesn't start

does it smell like fuel after you crank it alot trying to get it to start? if so then you got fuel deilvery.

Hey man, i am having the same problem. I drove it to the gas station and filled up. As soon as I got in to crank it, it didnt start. It cranks but doesnt start. I can definitely smell fuel though when cranking. So I left my cut off switch off, so that the pump wouldnt pump anything, and just keeping trying to crank, and eventually it cranked after about 10-15 min. and then I turned on the fuel pump. I have the cutoff switch as well, and it still floods. I just dont know what to do either. Anyone have any other ideas why this happens? Seems like we both have the same problem man.

It sounds like a low compression issue. I will try to make it to you on Saturday after I go look at the next project .

You can lose compression from flooding too often. I would do the ATF trick and get those damn injectors fixed ASAP.

OMG NO DO NOT DO THE ATF trick

/kick DriftHappy

It is going to be something simple, like a vac line came off or one of your main fuses popped. Or even the wiring for your switch to turn off your fuel pump broke, or your wireing for that switch hit the body and popped the fuel pump fuse (happened to me). I would check all that first. You have fuses under the hood and under the dash.

doesn't smell like fuel at all. My first guess was the fuel pump, my 2nd guess was spark. I got new spark plugs lying around and a new fuel filter. I'll probably change those and see what happens. Is there a possibility that a clogged fuel filter will prevent it from starting? Also is the fuel pump hard to change? I read the fsm and it seems simple enough. Probably gonna hit the junkyard to get a fuel pump. If it isn't the fuel pump then i'm really gonna call it quits haha.

7s like to flood...drive normal no drifting into the gas station or quick stop light race then shut her off...and at least buy a new fuel pump not that expensive...its very easy to replace them btw.

lol, my car just did the same thing, did a couple pulls to 5th gear brought the car back home after a nice cool down and shut it off outside to move some things in the garage and I ended up pushing the thing in the garage. plugs looks pretty fouled so tomorrow off to buy new plugs. I checked compression while i was at it the poor man way and the engine sounds even.

lol at least your car was at home. Mine cost 140 bucks to tow home. the fc's been acting up lately. i fixed the plugs, ac belt snaps causing alternator belt to become twisted. after changing the belt my car won't even crank. at that point i got really frustrated. Finally figured that the main fuse was blown so i stupidly tried to yank it out like the other fuses (don't ask) yea, broke the fuse apart and then found out you had to unscrew it. went to change the fuse and car starts again. Long day . . . . for the fc and a longer one for me but i won't complain because those are necessary maintenance items for any old car and not because its a rotary. In fact, i've had no engine problems at all (minus flooding).
