sad day for me :(

Well I just got the oil feed line that brian makes to reduce oil flow to the turbo. I installed it and hooked everything up and started her up. The pics say it all

... I'd take it for a good hard spin and see if it still smokes. If there's oil in the exhaust system (assembly oil, small pool from some previous leak) it can take a while to burn off.

well I let it idle for a good 15-20 minutes. Do you guys think it could still be burning stuff off? Oh and by the way there is still oil leaking from the hotside, not as bad as before the oil restricted line was installed but still there. I guess I could drive it for a couple of minutes and see how it goes.

If it's still leaking oil then that's where the smoke is coming from.

how long was she sitting for???? if my car sits for more than a week, she smokes like crazy for a minute or so...... then goes away....... as long as i keep driving it, it never smokes during startup(or any time for that matter)... i dont know what that means, but i know its very common amongst rx7 owners (from what ive gathered)

"jus burning off some oil"

and she runs fine everday after that without smoke at all...

This was after sitting for 5 months, popped off first time, got it to idle and it smoked like this for about an hour. After that, shes been like the normal rx7.

The amount of oil or anything else that smoked before this turbo went in was absolutely none. I mean it wouldn't smoke at all on start up or anything. As a matter of fact this car has only flooded once and it was when I put in the 720 primaries and I started the car up and then shut it down real quickly because I didn't let the wideband warm up first and then tried to start it again and it flooded so that was just my fault, other than that (knock on wood) it's been a smoke free engine. As a matter of fact it doesn't smoke right when I first start it up but about 5 to 7 minutes after I've turned it on (after car warms up). I think I'm with you parastie. Brian is being super cool though and gave me a mail saying that if the restricted line doesn't work he can further restric it from .090" to .065" so I'll give that a shot to see how it goes.

hum kenteth I may just take it out just to see if it will burn off. As a matter of fact I'll go ahead and take it for a drive now to see if it will burn off.

I have heard that alot of BNR's burn oil or leak oil over the years on this forum. But people still for some reason buy these all the time? Why I don't know

Turbo seal gone big time. Rebuild turbo. Oh, what kind of blow off valve are you using? Still a blown turbo, just curious about the bov.

thanks canaduh, the spoiler is called a super (not supra) style spoiler on mazda trix. Well I just took it for a test drive and noticed two things, When I drive the car it smokes way less (still smokes though) and then if I let it idle for about a minute after driving it, it will start to smoke horribly again. Another thing I noticed not having anything to do with the turbo but when my secondaries are supposed to come on the car bogs and thats it, like fuel cut almost. I looked at my wideband when this would happen and the af number pegs 21 and then once I let go of the gas peddle it will go back to normal a/f numbers and drive fine. This happens only under boost. Damnit! Why did I want to upgrade my turbo again?

oh and hailers I have an old school greddy bov that came with the intercooler and piping. I was thinking about getting another one but it works just fine. As for the turbo it is a brand new bnr stage III

See Honda Dude, quit trying to make the car go faster and faster, lol...

Sad to see you're still having problems cropping up though

If I'd have to guess, I'd go with Hailer's prognosis, then again what do I know about turbos

yeah wayne your right, I should have stopped when I was ahead. If there is one thing I know from working on computers, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I totally went against everything i know on that one .....and screwed the pooch. I'm thinking your right about hailer's prognosis. Oh well live and learn.

oh yeah things that could have started the hessitation on boost.

new 890cc secondary injectors
new fuel injector connectors
plugs that have been flooded really badly
wired in resistors

what do you guys think is causing this hessitation ....not hessitation more as a bog until I let off the gas. LIke I said it pegs 21 on the a/f gauge and stays there until I let off the gas. 21 means it's lean so it may be that the secondaries are not kicking on? is there any way it could be the spark plugs? I'm figuring it can't be that the 890s are bogging down the turbo or it would be stupid rich but instead it is very lean. Any help would be great.

Hondahater, sorry to hear of your troubles. My TII is always been playing catch up to your mods but I think I know where I will call it quits and try and enjoy the car. That said I am sure you will figure it out and then you will become the Jones' I am trying to keep up with again. In conclusion I hope the new restrictor works.

Hey man, put a meter on one of the secondaries at the ECU and watch the voltage while you're driving- if they're not coming on line when they're supposed to, the voltage will never fall (they should run around 14v until they come on, then the voltage should fall (the more fuel they're pushing, the lower the voltage drop). If both injectors display voltage drops, then they should be working properly. If not...well then, some troubleshooting is in order

thanks wayne I'll give that a shot next time I drive it and don't feel like kicking the ever living **** out of it, lol. So there should be no voltage to the secondaries until they kick on right?
