S5 vert CPU is fried

I"m working out bugs in my rebuild and I'm putting out more fires than I'm making progress. Very frustrating to say the least...but such is life.

Story is that it's a JDM S5 13B rebuild going in a 90 vert with airbags. I've been idling the rebuilt engine getting air out of the coolant, fixing oil and coolant leaks. Looking for exhaust leaks. Three days ago my horn starts blowing and lights flash every time I close the door.

Each time the door sensor was triggered the horn would blow once and the lights would flash once. It would stay that way until I disconnected the battery. Then would come back the first time the engine was fired up.

Here's the damage I found

Part of the work my employer does is repair to electronics, computers, smart phones, etc. One of the guys is a performance car guy. Gonna take this to him tomorrow and see what he says.

should be really easy, the lines on thingee tell you what spec it is, and its pretty easy to solder in a new one. its a $0.25 part

in the row of 4 on the left, the 3rd one from the bottom looks kind of melty too

Yeah, I also found one more that looks bad on the bottom of the board (not in the picture)

My concern is the burned mark on the board itself. At work they repair motherboards and other circuit boards all the time. They have trays of caps, resistors, etc. As long as the board isn't too scarred to repair they can do it.

Thanks Jack, I may take you up on that offer if work tells me the board is beyond repair.

I have a write up posted on how to add an external relay to make highbeams work
on this CPU.

PM sent, One of the techs went home early from work today. Another tech was kind enough to solder in a couple caps that they said were leaking. They want to be sure they can read the colors correctly and are gonna wait to solder them. I'm going to take it home tonight and try plugging it back in with just the capacitors replaced...see what happens.

Do you have any macro pics of yours available? The one is too burned for them to read the stripes on it. If I can get pics they can solder the correct ones in.

As a backup I'd love to get yours off you. If nothing else I can crack that one open so they can compare them. I might even be able to get both repaired and send your's back to you.

I PM'd you my addy, just let me know how much to paypal you.

Has anyone got pics of the FC66 board? Something macro so techs at work can read the resistor stripes?
