S5 turbo with divorced wastegate?

Has anyone ever seen a divorced wastegate on an S5 turbo? I just looking for the screamer pipe sound. I am planning to go with BNR stage 3 pretty soon with an rtec 2.1.

On my S5 motor I have a Knight sports turbo with A divorced waste gate. It has a external dump for my wastegate. Its the little very bottom tube coming off under the downpipe. Here is a picture.

I don`t have the motor in the car yet but it will be in with in a couple of months. I will let you know. I have heard that it helps the flow of the exhaust gases in the downpipe flow better because the when the wastegate opens up to dump exhaust gas it does not effect the flow of the gases in the downpipe. Because it is getting dumped externally and not internally.

screamers are cool for a little while, but you get tired of the sketchiness around cops

If you're running a quick spooling turbo like the stocker, it's very easy to get into boost and have the wastegate crack open. Unless you have a boost controller that keeps the wastegate fully shut until the desired pressure level, it will crack open long before max boost. Bleed-type boost controllers and wastegate springs alone will do this. In other words, you get to accelerate from a stop like an old lady if there's a cop nearby.

I am pretty sure anybody driving an RX7 does that already.

Hah, maybe. But you'll also become a really obvious target if you're ever under boost. A cop 2 blocks away will be able to hear you coming.

I fully agree with arghx. A friend of mine did this on his mkIII supra with the stocker ct26. It was sweet....for a week or so. Honda guys do it all the time too, and its the same thing, as its cool at first but gets annoying fast, even when its not your car. But if you want it, go ahead, its your preferences.

BTW, I would never do this if you ever plan on tracking the car(roadcoarse, auto x, etc.).

Just my $0.02
