I think the black/gunmetal gray would look better if the wheel had an aluminum lip. Maybe an inch or more to offset the darker web.

I would consider doing the darker colors on a white car too. White/white looks great. White with dark wheels looks menacing!

Of course, I'm stuck with a red car so I have no idea what to do.

I would love to have red. I have always thought that darker wheels looked "menacing" too. I really like the idea of the aluminum ring around the outside (similar effect as late 70's 911 wheels). I am glad to have the feedback...my personal thought was that white would be too.....white.

Here's a shot of my old Sport. It has the S4 GXL wheels powdercoated black and aluminum lip left clean.

(We just started up www.firstcoast7.com for any 7 owners in Jax or North Florida, but everyone is welcome!)

Thanks for the pic...that is what I was looking for as far as color and the clean lip. It seems a little too good to be true for the powdercoating to be around $40/wheel as previously mentioned.

As a side note, my sister lives in Jacksonville. The last time I came down there, I almost drove the 7...but alas...I was shut down by the wife and we drove the Legend.

I personally think white wheels on a white car looks awesome....Im not a fan of dark wheels, such as black or gunmetal. Either white or polished looks the best IMO.
