Slave Cylinder Question

The Slave Release Cylinder started to leak. Today I replaced It with a genuine Mazda one and sure enough, It started leaking again. I couldn't even bleed It b'c It wouldn't hold pressure.

The leak Is from where the boot meets the housing. Prior to Installation, I compressed the piston Inward to make clearance. Did I damage It? Any thoughts?

I would take it back to Mazda and ask for another one - the new one is bad.

Honestly, you should replace the entire setup if you replace the clutch slave. The parts total 80 dollars from victoria british. I even had them next day aired to me and it was only 100 bucks total. Fixed alot of my clutch chatter problems (mine wasn't leaking, and it still isn't and it's not mazda OEM, it's 3rd party.) I can give you the part numbers from the vic british catalog if you want them. They are a great vendor for parts, ordered from them many many times.

email me if you need the part numbers: Defekt@thoughtshop.com

I rebuilt the master and slave on mine. Cost was about $15 and an afternoon. Was a couple of years a go.

That's another option, but the parts are like 15 years old now :P so. I enjoy the peace of mind of just replacing them.
