I've been reading through some of the threads on this topic, but I'm still not quite sure about what I need to do. I want to mate a TII engine to an N/A drivetrain in a 91 N/A. Can I just put the N/A front counterwieght and flywheel onto the TII engine and bolt it all up?

 

you dont even need to swap the front counterweight, jsut swap the flywheels

All counterweights in series are the same weights. So yes just a flywheel. Or upgrade to afetrmarket one with removable counter.

The NA trany should hold fine under stock TII conditions.

 

O yea??? Where do you get your info from.... I personally run 20 psi out of my t70... ITs still running good....

 

why doont you just get a t2 tranny? to keep it all T2.

 

because its easier to drop in the motor and connect it to the n/a tranny.... Now, I would suggest you keep it like that till you blow the rear, which is most likely to go first...

 

Probably from all the people that have blown NA trannys with a turbo engine. Just because it worked for you doesnt mean it will work for everyone. On the other hand, if you're short on cash or something you can just keep it till it goes then swap ina turbo tranny. Who knows, you might get lucky like him.

 

Im pushing over twice the torque that a stock TII is pushing.... so if my trannies can take it and Other people I know that have done it can take it, then how is that luck???

 

longevity and durability is gonna depend on how you drive it
