S5 TII idle check issue

S5 TII idle check issue
I've recently developed and idle issue that I haven't figured out yet. My idle sits at around 650 rpm. At times the idle drops to just above 0 rpm. The car never actually stalls...just shutters like it's going to. The 0 rpm thing happens pretty consistently at night with lights on and such.
I checked my TPS and the only difference from the FSM is the full range is off by less than an ohm or so on the high end. My understanding is that would only effect things during WOT.
I followed tech advice on teamfc3s.org for checking idle on TII. Here's a link I got as far as jumpering my connector with a 10k ohm resistor and got 5 volts on my multimeter. As the site suggested, I sent an email. I'm just curious if anyone on these forums is familiar with this procedure and can offer any advice what to look for next?
