s5 thermostat housing question

Had a quick question about my thermostat housing. I noticed where the hose meets up with it, it is discolored. It has turned brown and has a road map type pattern in it. Am I running on borrowed time at this point? Should I go ahead and just replace it? While I am at it should I buy a new radiator and replace the hoses? Are most of the hoses easy to get to? Does anyone sell an OEM hose kit or do you have to buy them individually? Sorry if there are already posts on this, but didn't have much luck. Thanks in advance.

You mean the plastic neck? If the plastic looks obviously aged, then replacing it isn't a silly idea. Old plastic will eventually crack. The stock one is $62 from Mazdatrix or you can get an aluminium one from Guru Motorsports in Australia for A$95.

If the radiator is doing it's job okay then there's no need to replace it. The hoses should be replaced if they show signs of age like surface cracking or swelling. The engine-to-heater hose is a common failure point as it often gets oil spilt on it during oil filter changes, which eventually waekens the rubber. Mazdatrix have all the hoses.
