Hey guys,
on S5 taillights, we all know how you have circular brake lights, and turn signals, but the backup light is square, well I designed a Vinyl cover for the backup light and inward area. I will post pics on how it looks, I did it to my S5 taillights on my S4, and it gives the car a diffrent look. I can cut vinyl any color needed, just need a pantone color to match the vinyl to. Gloss is the cheepest, but I can also do metallics, and reflectives (cost more), (note Ultra Metallics I can get but do not mold to the crease in the taillight well).

Metallic: $15
Reflective $20

why would you even post something like that? just to waste space? people do what they want with their cars, have you not figured that out yet?? its not your concern if someone else wants to do it, so saying its rice is a subjective opinion, its yours and not everyone's. personally it sounds like my definition of "rice" as well, but without pics how can you tell, just basing your opinion on it being vinyl is very... well i dont know why im bothering, stuff like this is why i quit posting in the first place, i was just linked to this by a friend.

DEFINE RICE... or can you? Frankly I got tired of seeing all that wasted tailight space... and the square backup light ruins the design IMHO.... the colors are matched perfectly to the paint... other than me tellin it's Vinyl most people couldn't tell. the "diamonds" are actually ovals, cut by a Graphtec Ploter, and was a sized oval, done in Gerber Composer... it may look like that, but it's because I took a quick shot when the car was filthy (live on dirt road) and had to make it incredably low res. and if anythin F&F is the cauz for Rice in the US being popular in the first place. F&F is the gayest Reprensation of Streetracing I've watched... and when they tried to put in a storyline... boy did it suck.... the car's weren't even that impressive.... who the hell puts a wing and a roof scoop on an eclipse? that's rice for you... the Rims on the RX-7 were huge and chrome, you know those things were heavy, how does that help the car's performance? and the graphics they put on the main cars were gaudy as ****... and now you see every F&F wanna be with them on their car. so you're calling something "rice" when what you are using to call it "rice" is the cause for the "rice" culture to begin with! or did you miss the Hyprocracy of the pic when you posted it?

 

its not wasted taillight space. its desined to be that big. while not cover the whole thing up and use a paper whole punch whydontcha?

 

I admire the fact that you had the initiative to try and design something yourself, but in all honesty it does look awful and I hope you can reverse the damage you have done to those beautiful s5's. In fairness to everyone else, you did do a pretty ricey upgrade. I don't think that would have been approved by us even if it was done prior to F&F ever coming out.

 

how is it not useless... it never lights up, it's not even reflective, the body color looks better in that place IMO, that's why I put it there... I'm not the first to do it either... I saw it originally on a white S4 FC with the S4 tailights, and to me, it looked better... so I followed suit with the S5 tailights, just had to make the modification so the backup light could show though. nothing really major... and it's diffrent... and unlike those plastic covers, people can't steal Vinyl...
