It spaces the lights too far apart. I like the one large hollow tailight area to have lights and liscence plate. I do think covering all but the 2 red circles, a yellow circle (turn signals) and an oval reverse light, then smoking the rest pitch black would look cool. Maybe someone could photoshop it.

Rice= a grain grown in large ammounts of water, then cooked in water under heat.
Ricer= a car with many far from OEM or non functional visual parts that do not make a car go faster. A tasteful body kit that doesn't travel too far from the OEM style bumpers is not ricey, racing seats aren't ricey as they serve a perpose. Installing a roof scoop would do nothing =ricey. Chrome tail lights = ricey (looks that way even on cars that come with "chromed" tail lights) neon and a front mounted interfooler (fake) = ricey. Tons of vynils advertising companyies that make parts that aren't on your car= ricey. Using nitrous to beat anything n/a and then bragging = a ricey jackass. I do think your mod doesn't look ricey, but in my personal opinion it is distasteful. I am happy you are happy with it, take off the badging and the back could pass as another car in some ways.

the S4s have a completely different theme. Sure you made the reverse light round to suit the theme, but the transition into a blocky body colored area doesn't seem too work, also the car loses its wideness feel. The S4s can be painted body colored and the width of each bulb maintains not just the light's theme but the whole car's theme. S5s are too good looking to change IMO although I have seen an LED ring conversion rather than solid red circles I liked. Now none of these are personal attacks or meant ot be rude and say you have bad taste, but we can agree to disagree. These are just my opinions.

Hey listen I don't "hate you" and I have no reason to. If you like the mod that much then keep it. If you are upset at the fact that you didn't get the response you had hoped for, it should be a clear indication that "pop culture and cars" should never be associated with rotaries. My opinion was based on a more conservative view, and I think you'll find that based on the responses by everyone else on how stock is much better, they are conservative too.

If you want a cool looking tail light then leave it alone. The S5 in my opinion was a great looking car the way it sat and unfortunately getting more and more difficult to find unmolested.

How many extremely clean examples of the S5 do we see on the road anymore? When we do OUR reaction is typically the same. Holy Cow that thing is clean.

OK ok ok I will goahead and help you fix this.

Ricer - Yours are RCIE! Why? Beacuse you did not do it right and stuck vinal on them.

Not ricer - Take the tail light apart pull the diffuser and cover the inside lense. replace the diffuser and reassemble.

The pic is not a "great" one, just a quick snapshot, if I got a closeup you could see it was a true Oval, not a diamond, it's a perfectly done oval (computer drawn, I just put in the size), I guess to me adding them made the car look wider. also my choice in Vinyl, is mainly becacuse 1. I had a color which matched the body paint almost perfectly 2. Since I am a graphic artist for a living specializing in Vehicle Graphis, it cost me nothing to do. 3. I'll probably get tired of it after a while and want to change back, but Vinyl allows me to do so (unlike paint, or fiberglass).

I do agree that the S5 taililghts are beautiful, and deffinately ahead of it's time. I just saw something diffrent, liked it, and tried it... also I DO the graphics for the Law enforcement Vehicles in 9 Countys in NC, from Caswell County all the way down to Raleigh area, and most if not all Police car graphics are done in Vinyl. tell them their car looks ricey.... Vinyl doesn't make a car "ricey" for the most part, other than the points that '87 trubo FC made, of the cars with performance manfactures when they don't have parts, and F&F movie decals on cars... and there are a few others, but not many. besides this is Rice more than anything

also what T*Moble did to the AE86 Coupe in their last commercial. (it had a ROOF WING HALF AS LARGE AS A REAR WING!, not to mention they looked like cardboard) the car was Mexican Rice @ that. (see a whole lot of that around here).

rice = parts for your car that do nothing but TRY to make it look better.
s5 tails dont need a thing. i could stare at them all day and if i saw someone chromed them out or try to change it id stab them in the face. i think iceblue put it the best that you should of put more time into it. i dont think its that hard to draw a couple ovals and the computer.

From the title, I knew this thread was going to get fcked.
No bad or good comments from me. If you like it, that's fine.. I guess.
I'll leave my own taillights alone.
Goodluck.

Well they seem to be well made with much care and attention. The colour match looks very good. I'd say he did a pretty good job on them.

I however agree with everyone else, it looks like crap. Well made crap is still crap, plain and simple. It's not the quality of the work they're insulting, it's the whole concept of it. I could have the best plywood wing in the whole world, but I'd expect to get ridiculed and flamed to death anyway, and I could argue the virtues of the quality untill I'm blue in the face and it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference if the design of it looks terrible. (please, I DO NOT have any form of plywood wing, spoiler or anything else, so put the flame throwers away)

only one hole in that comment, my change doesn't add weight... nor does it make any false claim nor does it falsely assume functionality. besides I'll probably get tired of it in a year and do something else... or just take it off. the nice thing, is the vinyl doesnt' damage the taillights, I will be able to remove the vinyl without any real trouble. both me and my bosses son both do things like that. we add vinyl changes, and get tired of them in time and remove them. besides, I'll end up tinting the tailights after I repaint the car yellow, it would look better. the vinyl cover was just something diffrent... and mainly a solution to the problem of people stealing the plastic tailight covers. I was not trying to be " hey buy this mod it rocks" not by any means... just trying to bring something diffrent to the table... and if someone liked it, let me know... but that was it really. I wasn't "trying to be cool" or anything like that. also what looks good is all relative to where you live. in my area, rear taillight covers are popular, and tasteful. obviously it isn't everywhere. but that was it
