S5 springs

I have a GTUs and an S5 GXL. Im swapping the engine/tranny into the GTUs from the GXL. Thats all well and fine but the wheel gap on the GTUs is just retardedly high and I dont know why.

Case in point:

I know thats just a 15" S4 GXL rim, but the wheel gap is the same on the S4 TII and even some after market 17" wheels I had on there.

Heres the GXL:

I dont know if the springs were ever replaced by one of the previous owners or not, but the car just sits really friggin high. What im thinking about doing is swapping the springs from my GXL when I do the engine too. So now my question. Is there a difference between the S5 NA springs and any series TII springs, spring rate, size, etc etc.

Well im planning on getting coilovers in the next month or 2, or atleast some better shocks/springs, but for the current time being I dont want to have the car so damn high.

And yes, theres a blown motor in the GTUs.

The GTUs has the stock TII Tokico shocks on it, I dont know how it will drive with the stock NA springs on there. Im not even sure if the springs were different between the TII and NA's.

Something is really wrong in that picture of the GTUs. I would expect that if there weren't a motor but you say there is a motor in there. It can't be sitting that high!?

And what's with the weird black stripe on the GXL?

I guess its some sort of bumper thing. Protects the car against shopping cars and door dings. My idiot sister slammed the door open into a sign and the door took no damage because it hit that black thing. Its pretty cool.

But as far as the height of the GTUs, I have no idea whats up with it, but it looks shitty and Im going to see if my GXL springs will lower it some until I can afford better springs.

something has to be bound up.

Have you looked under the car at all?
Are the springs seated in their pearches properly?

probably not.

After a few more looks, the spacing in the springs looks as though there isn't even tension on them.

I am going to go out on a limb and assume that you didn't just come out one morning to find you now have a 4x4 capable RX-7, so how long has it sat like this and what have you done (if anything) to the suspension in the past?

I bought it this way. The guy I bought it from was an off roading fanatic, so its possible he put some retarded springs in from one of his other cars.
