Arrow s5 short block into s4?

I'm just curious... what would you have to do to run an s5 tII short block in an s4? would all of the s4 parts bolt up, and would it do wierd things because of the different compression?

I believe that you have to use the S4 front cover so you can use the mechanical oil metering pump....unless you just want to block it off and premix. Other than that, I don't think that there would be much of a problem...

yah, as long as your keeping everything in the engine bay S4, I believe you'll have to swap out the front cover and OMP like Funkspectrum already said..

So would it be a smart thing to do? Do you think i would gain all that much power out of it, since i'm not using the s5 turbo?

i have an s5 engine in my s4 and it works fine, you have to change the front cover, asalready mentioned, and move some wiring, but you can still use the s4 ecu and s4 wiring harness, and power gain is about 20-30 hp

If you already have an s4 car, then stick with the s4 engine for simplicity.

You can use the s5 block since it's technically the same except for the compression and the fact that the spark plugs are a tad closer together....other than that, I don't think there is much of a difference...

I swapped an s5 into my s4 racecar. I used the s4 front cover and s4 OMP.

I didn't have a s5 manifold so I used the s4 manifold and there is a small exhaust leak at the bottom of the LIM. I assume it has something to do with the loss of the EGR on the top of the engine. I plugged it with JBweld and had no problems for many years.

There is no significant power difference with the s4 manifold on a s5 engine.

edit - oops, I swapped a NA to NA are you trying to swap tII into NA?
