s5 with s4 motor havin problems!!!!

my friend has a 89 GTU with a 86 N/A rebuilt motor....recently the car has been runnin rough at idle....it will die unless he gives it gas....could this be a fuel pump problem?? cuz it sounds like the fuel pump is struggling....my question is...has anyone had this problem before...and if its not the fuel pump, could it be something else.....

Man, this could be ANYTHING. And its all purely based on how he did the conversion (why he did it I will never know). Are the emissions intact? More info needed..

95% of the time idling problems are because of vacume leaks!

yeah its the fuel pump... it might still be good. try this first... the ground on the top of the pump itslef... run another ground to the ground on top of the pump itslef... it cure my problem and mine was doing hte same thing... i just used one of hte bolts that holds the rear lights on. make sure you scrape the paint off tho first... and run the wire under the carpet of course
