S5-S4 headlight motor exchange?

I have a 90 vert, the driver side headlight motor intermittently failed to retract, then stopped retracting at all. I can turn it down by hand, it stays down. After it is raised, it will not automatically lower.

I tested the voltage at the plugs (awhile back) and found that power was available to lower the headlight. It tested the same on both the driver and passenger side.

I presumed the fault to be in the motor and bought a motor from another member, but is is apparently from an S4. There is a plug on the S4 harness that is missing from the S5.

I found this thread, it illustrates the difference exactly, except that I don't have the relay shown, just an empty plug.

Does anyone have an idea for a workaround? Or do I just need to find a working S5 motor?

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Plugged in the replacement and it didn't worked. Checked the relay and it is working alright (it moves the lil' arm when you apply power to it, appears without its cover in the pic below). The only way I could make the motor turn was wiring a jumper to make the white/red cable bypass the relay but then the motor wouldn't stop turning.

Any help greatly appreciated!! Thanks again!!
