The s5 airflow meter is better than the s4 because it uses a hot wire instead of the flapper door in the s4. The ecu is better because it is faster and has a check engine light that stores codes unlike the s4 ecu

ugh for the 500th time, there is no proof that the s5 afm is more effiecient or more flowing than the s4 afm. I think the only reason they changed the afms between s4 and s5 was not becuase the s4 was more restricting, but the cost of manufacturing it was expensive.

Im curious to know if you can use an FD ECU with the second gen wiring harness and sensors, and use the MAP sensor instead of the AFM on our cars... anyone?

All I know is that plasic piece inside is muy importante, as in you aren't supposed to mess with it.

Yeah actually we do, but we're sick of answering this question daily!

The S5 AFM is not a hotwire type. It uses a sliding cone that works exactly the same as the pivoting flap in the S4's AFM. Any claims of power advantages are pure myth.
