Well, it's very possible that something has broken so badly inside that it seized up. Disconnect the driveshaft once you get a chance to make sure that it's the transmission and not the differential or brakes.

If with the driveshaft pulled, see if the car rolls. If so, your only option is to pull the transmission.

(I just re-read your post and saw that you said it won't go into gears. Looks like for sure the trans is garbage)

yeah it wont go into gears at all, is it worth it to rebuild the transmission, i heard the n/a transmissions are weak so even if i have it rebuilt it will still be weak compared to the turbo transmissions, i guess maybe a used transmission

I've rebuilt one before, it's not worth it. They're crap, so either get a new one for a song and dance from a junkyard or someone on the forum here, or get a TII transmission.

You possibly could have it locked in to 2 gears at the same time. Now, it's possible to reverse this problem, but everyone that's had this issue has had to deal with it again very soon. It's the shift fork rod... channel I guess you'd call it... that gets worn out. It's just machined aluminum that will wear out causing the selector rod to push 2 forks at the same time, locking the transmission up. By shifting it into 5th, you're probably getting a third gear locked in.

point-blank- twice already really, will i have difficulty removing the transmission since its still like in gear or is it the same thing. I have replaced the transmission before once, the previous owner had a really messed up transmission it would be grinding really bad, so should be simple to remove since ive done it before

You'll have no more issue removing it than usual.

Well.... you won't be able to spin the driveshaft to get the bolts out, but that's as far as the difficulty goes. The engine's not locked up or anything, so you'll have enough free-play to disassemble stuff.

buying a used transmission will probably be cheaper and/or as much as getting your trans rebuilt by a shop. if you can get a used transmission from someone on the boards or a local shop for a reasonable price, you'll have your currently trashed transmission to take apart and learn, perhaps even rebuild if the parts aren't beyond use.
