s5 knock sensor same as FD?

guys i was wondering if the s5 knock sensor is the same as the series6... the one on my FD is bad and i can get one from an FC probably for free or next to nothing, but i'm not exactly sure they're the same...

Why bother replacing it?
Are you running an A'PEXi Power FC?

Not possible.
Malfunctioning knock sensor cannot trigger limp home.

All I know is that I've had cars exhibit limp-mode symptoms and the only code present was for the knock sensor. It's happened twice that I recall. And both times, repairing the knock sensor and resetting the ecu cleared the limp mode and the code. Limp mode symptoms include unwillingness to run smoothly as vacuum approaches 0 from -4inhg, and absolutely horrible bucking and sputtering if you try to hammer on the throttle at any point, but as long as you stay at or below -4inhg of vacuum the car runs like a dream.

I've always unplugged the stock knock sensors and never had a problem, period.
This is the FC section.
If you're talking about FD's, you might want to go ask in the FD section.
