S5 Front Lower Control Arms - New
S5 Front Lower Control Arms - New
Thought that I would post this should anybody be interested. Rockauto is offering closeout special on S5 Mevotech LCA's.
MEVOTECH CMS801120 (LCA Front Left) Regularly $144.79 Now $53.79
MEVOTECH CMS801119 (LCA Front Right) Regularly $144.79 Now $54.79
Here is a link: https://www.rockauto.com/?carcode=11...parttype=10401
Probably not as good as original Mazda parts, but at a cost of roughly $500 each Mazda should provide quality parts.

I did too. Paid $119.33 shipped including the 5% discount. Eleven years ago, did the S5 to S4 LCA "upgrade" to have replaceable ball joints. Given that Mazda is charging ~$75 each for replacement ball joints and bushings ~$50 per side, I'll just swap back to these S5 LCAs even if they last only a couple years.
Idk, I'd be a little weary of those. The stock arms are forged, those appear to be cast going by the clean part line. I assume the manufacturer did their homework to make sure they're safe, but mistakes have been made in the past...

The description on Rock Auto says they're cast. Not sure if that's a mistake, but from that video it does seem like they are a legitimate company and not some cheap Chinese remanufacturer.

I watched the video and my one takeaway was that GM made a dust shield with a hole in it that perfectly lined up with the ball joint. That's quality right there! Why protect one of the main things that needs protecting?
I recently bought from Rockauto front strut bellows (Mevotech MP63621) for my car. Rockauto had the Mevoteck bellows listed as rubber versus plastic for other manufactures. I specifically wanted the rubber bellows. When I received the Mwvotech bellows, I was surprised to find that they were not rubber but also plastic. Buying parts from Rockauto is "...like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.” .
