Control Arms

Hey I'm having an issue with what I think is my ball joint. Is there anyone making a cheaper part than the OEM ($400) part. I have considered swapping the control arms for s4 parts, but I want to know if anyone has replaced the s5 one with another part. I can't find any online, Autozone, napa, and VB don't carry them.

The S5 ball joints are integrated into the control arm. I don't believe that they are replacable without machine work and welding.

Right, I knew that, but thanks. What I was wondering is if there is another source for the S5 arms other than Mazdatrix, Mazda... something less expensive.

No. There aren't any aftermarket suppliers. Mazda worked hard to make the arms non-rebuildable. So either go to the S4 arms, or find a good set of used ones.

What problems are you having?

Are the boots on your ball joints broken open?

If you convert to S4 arms you need the arms and the swaybar links for an s4 I believe.
