they arent rare at all ... should be able to find them in junkyards or in the forums for at least 50-70 bucks. I think you have to get the s5 bumper support as well to install the fog lights correctly. but other than that i would think you can make brackets of some sort and just fabricate it to fit.

I have a set of S5 fogs in excellent condition with brackets, wire harnesses, and switch. And bumper support as well if you need it.

PM me if youre interested.

they are not rare and you will need the s5 front bumper to make them look good

I wouldn't even bother...the stock fogs are pathetic, the install is ridiculously complex and any modern fog/driving lamp will be far superior.
I can barely tell when mine are on.

If by "far superior" you mean "ugly as ****" then yes

I really wish my stock fogs still fit, I'd rather wreck the front end of my car than ruin it with universal fog/driving lamps from autozone or JcWhitney.
As far as installation, its really not that bad. It doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure out how to wire a toggle switch.

Agreed... Completely ruins the look.
Aftermarket fogs are the fastest way to make an rx7 look like a Probe

My S5 vert came with them, and mine actually make a difference. I think the previous owner put brighter bulbs in them because they are as bright as my headlights are.

No, that's not what I meant.

There are other options besides "cheap" universals.
Cibie and Hella both make lights that are very similar to the Mazda lights and actually provide some illumination.

Your S5 came prewired for the fogs and you didn't have even have to wire for a toggle switch...you should have used the stock switch. Much less "rice".
The OP doesn't have that option so the relay and switch will need to be self-installed.

yes exactly, i would probably make the situation worse by figuring out how to wire it by myself

The wiring would be quite straightforward, not anything exotic.
Just a relay and a switch.

I think you should still be able to wire it up pretty easily, even if you are adding a relay...
However, he WOULD have to do the same thing whether or not he uses a set of universal fogs or stock ones (because as you mentioned, he doesn't have them pre-wired). With that being said... If he follows a write-up or instructions for adding fog lamps to any vehicle, the OP should be able to do it without too much risk of doing any damage.

Forgot to specify before: My s5 did come with fogs, but my front mount piping didnt want to share the space, so i had to take them off

Something like this, just to give you an idea of what you're looking at for wiring
