S5 Fog light re-wire
Ok so i've searched and browsed through a few older threads regarding the foglights on the S5 cars. My Goal is the get the fog lights to work without the headlights needing to be on. I would prefer not to hack into the wire loom of the parking lights.
From what I understand the OEM setup is : When headlights are on this sends power to pull in foglight relay for power to be available to them? If this is the case could I just find a 12v ignition source to pull in the foglight relay and just turn them on/off via the cabin switch? What have others had success with? I would like to be able to have parking lights and fog-lights on without headlights.
Thanks,
-M

Theoretically, you just need to de-pin the R/B wire from connector E-02 (connector at the cabin switch) and put either 12v constant or switched source in its place. That would make it standalone.
Since you're trying not to hack your harness, if you have an aftermarket head unit, that would be a great place to splice into, IMO.
