S5 Engine into a S4 Chassis
I have looked through a bunch of build threads and found a little info on this swap, but it isn't very complete. I just bought a S5 engine for my '86 GXL. I need to take it apart and replace a few parts, but I want to make sure I have everything that I need when I go to put the engine in my car.
I already know that I need to use the S4 front cover and the S5 temperature sensor. What about intake manifolds? Anything else I need to watch out for?
It seems most people upgrade to a turbo engine. I just want a N/A for a fun daily driver. Any help on things to watch out for and parts I need to be sure to have on would be helpful, especially if there is a thread that shows people that have done this in the past.

Are there any "build" threads out there of people that have done this swap?

yeah i've done the swap and the rotary resurrection method is a pain in the *** this is what my friend and i did on mine we used the s5 lower manifold the only thing u have to do to the manifold is relocate the rear stud inwards a bit we used a s4 middle manifold to lower manifold gasket to mark where the stud needed to be moved to so mark and drill the whole tap out the hole put the stud in and fill the old hole with steel puty and everything else is basicly the same i pretty much have to get rid if the egr tho and there u have it thats all we did

I've just picked up a 1986 FC for 300$ clean chassy with a blown engine, and was searching the forums what what kind of engines I could swap in at a cheap cost.
here in CA its hard for me to find a good running NA engine so my thoughts was getting a TII engine so the question is would FC3sdrift and frkydkyrednek method work for the t2 swap

definately interested in more info from the guys who have sucessfully pulled this off. Why did you have to pull the EGR freak? Also, the s4 and s5 use the same mounts?
