S5 EGR Exist?
S5 EGR Exist?
Im trying to figure out how to keep emmisions for someone wanting to do the S5 intake swap on a s4 block.
I know you have to use the S4 LIM and ACV. The S4 EGR can't be used because it wont allow the S5 UIM to seat properly.
So does the S5 n/A engine use a EGR? Reason I ask is because I have a S5 block on my work bench and the EGR passage on the top of the motor are not even cast there and I heard the EGR is on the intake but no where to be found and mazdatrix does not list EGRs for the S5 engine.
Do they even exist on the S5 Non Turbo Engine? If it doesn't exist, can you pass emmisions without it? Just the Sniff test not visual.

Yes, I pass emissions with no EGR on three RX-7 each and every year. I come nowhere close to failure. I THINK EGR was supposed to effect NOX, and my NOX is pretty much nothing. Plus, think about it, S5 don't even have one and have to pass emissions.
Thanks Hailers. Ya I figured maybe the s5 emmisions was slightly different or something. Yet, EGR is suppose to introduce exhaust into the cumbustion chambers yet there is no one on the S5 engine of doing that.
Excellent. Thanks for the info guys. Appriciate it.
