S5 Custom lights

Im trying to achieve the custom S5 tail light look. As far as I know I need to remove the lenses from the asembly. Has anyone ever removed the lenses before? Can you tell me how to do it without breaking anything please?

as far as i can tell the lense is attached with adhesive of some sort, heat should help you out some. MAKE SURE there are NO faseners. put some tin foil on a baking sheet, place one of the lamps on said baking sheet, put them in the oven with the oven door OPEN on the lowest temp setting, also you might want to put it on the lowest rack setting, after about 5-15 min, you can use a plastic putty scraper, or a butterfly knive( or screw driver) with some tape over it so you dont scratch it(i use electical tape), be very gentle and you can work the two apart, i have done this many times with great succsess on other cars, no reason it wont work for ours might want to give it a day or two befor you try this, a 7 guru might have a good reason not to, and i dont want to be that guy telling you to mess up your car. a hair dryer also might work? good luck!

I cant take off the studs that are used to bold into the car. Are these at all rremovable. I dont suspect that they are. What about when I am ready to put them back together? What do I do then?

There is glue holding the lenses onto the housing. Heat up the oven to about 250-350, turn it off, and leave them in there about 10-15 min. Heating them up is the best way to weaken the glue, just be careful not to melt them.

here is the thread, arn't i badass...

Oh and btw if you do this mod, replace your bulbs with LEDs i'll even provide the link for those, cuz im such an awesome guy.

12-LED / 19-LED / 30-LED 1156/1157 Bulbs:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...15x-x12x19.htm

24-LED 1156/1157 Bulb:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...2F1157-x24.htm

and lastly the very awsome 30 SMD LED 1156/1157 Spider Light Bulb(this bulb collapses to fit inside a small opening):
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...ider_light.htm

and not sure if our cars need this but you might need a Load Resistor Kit. One Load Resistor maybe required for each bulb. LED bulbs may cause some vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption). Some cars indicate this by turning on a bad bulb indicator(increased blinker speed). This can be remedied with load resistors wired across the LED bulbs to simulate a filament bulb load. You can buy these from the same website.
