S5 Automatic to S4 Automatic
#6
I knew that the wiring would be different because the S5 use the electronic assistance while the S4 is all mechanical...I really just need to know will the S4 auto fit where the S5 auto. Are the driveshafts any different? Are there any mechanical issues that would keep it from fitting/working?
In other words, if I was to drop the S5 auto and put the S4 auto in its place, would I be able to drive it without having to fabricate anything (minus the electrical stuff)?

The physical dimentions are the same. It will bolt up...BUT:
The Shifter assembly on the S5 is way different. You'll have to use the S4 shifter and center console.
The S5 tranny CPU is going to have a ****-fit trying to figure out WTF.
I wouldn't attempt it. The car will either be in limp mode or will not shift.
