S5 Alternator ?

Hey guys! I'm updating my alternator in my 1st gen. I just picked up an S5 alternator, I know this because it is 80amp. Now my question is that on all the pictures I have seen the plug goes into the back of the alternator. The one I have has the plug on the top side of the alternator. Is it just a manufacturing change? Just checking to see if any of you gus have this too.

Here is the pic of my alternator

Thanks

John

search around. i *think* that to run an S5 alt in an S4 requires something be done with the plugs to gettem running right.
