s5 90 convertible with an 89 s5 engine harness and ecu Help? ( i have searched)
I have searched the forums and found lots of different similar problems but none similar enough to mine to fix the issue.
I got my vert put all together and it runs great <2000 rpm. when you let the idle drop below that it sputters and dies rapidly. my friends and i have been working on it for days now and i don't have a clue. i am not a stranger to rx-7's (or their problems) i have a 3rd gen still out of commission as well but i need a vehicle. the vert drives ok but at any point if you let the idle drop the car WILL die. also the power steering pump is not connected.
The engine is a JDM motor with the acv, air pump and egr removed and blocked off. the BAC is on and connected but the wax plug is also removed. its running a 3" downpipe that goes back to the stock dual exhaust post cat. its a jdm harness and a jdm ecu. i have checked for ground problems and i don't really see any. i also have looked for vaccume leaks but i couldn't see any so far. the solenoids are all there and stock.
i know this is probably something simple that we keep overlooking and if someone could help me get her back on the road its a win for mazda as well as allowing me to have a car of my own. i have been stuck in the work car for over a year ( 2000 ford shitbox) and i am needing some zoom zoom.
on another note if anyone knows where i can go to get instructions on how to hook up the cruse control and the windshield wipers that would be epic!
