S4TII intakes to S5TII

Hello, I saw this thread in the archive about dyno results:
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-gen-archive-72/89-intake-swap-before-after-dyno-results-95492/

But this was for an N/A. I was wondering if the same results are typical with the turbo intake, or is it a marginal gain? Thanks.

The S5 NA intake has another dynamic intake feature other than the 6 ports, VDI. The VDI tube gives the engine an even better torque curve than the S4.

Point being, that this is NA, not turbo. I have been told that the S5 turbo intake versus the S4 isn't very different at all. Performance wise I doubt its even worth swapping.

You won't see much, but the powerband is better. More low end torque

Yea for NA. Not for TII.

The S5 TII has wider LIM runners and longer UIM runners... there should be a dyno noticable difference, but I have yet to see one.

You can see the not-insignificant differences here:

http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...threadid=17830

There would undoubtably be some improvement. Manufacturers don't spend money on development and retooling just for fun... Exactly how much difference is a mystery. The more modded the engine is the more improvement they would provide. IMO it wouldn't be worth buying and swapping the intake manifold unless you got it cheap and had time on your hands, or as part of a comprehensive rebuild shooting for big numbers. It you were doing the latter you'd probably be better off with an S5 LIM and FD UIM anyway.
