S4GXL project thread

so yeah...i figured out that trans problem ive been having. seems as though the flywheel ring gear completely separated from the flywheel and is just hanging there now. so...in light of my car being out of commission, i decided to also take off the intake manifold and do some replacing of old parts.
[IMG][/IMG]
^^ current progress.

if anyone else is looking to do something similar, heres the tricks to getting the upper intake off. the bolt at the bottom of the page was the one that took me the longest to find, as i dont have diagrams and havent worked on a rotary before.

heres the sub zero assist plate i made

the oil injectors. the vacuum lines are rock hard and are getting replaced. the oil lines are not really brittle but as the saying goes, while im in here...

new oil line material per the archived oil line rebuild thread. the prices are a bit more (it cost me $35 shipped for 8 feet of line plus connectors ) but the part #s are still valid. and its still about 100 bucks cheaper than new lines from mazdatrix.

also gonna be rebuilding the OMP. looks easy enough to remove.

ick. corrosion ate through this nipple. wtf is that ****. maybe a coolant flush is in order...

a few other questions for the pros though...
first of all, my oxygen sensor isnt plugged in. it came like that and i havent been able to figure out where the plug is.
once the manifold was off i found a wire that might be the one. the red circled wire is the wire in question, the arrow is where it comes from. the green circled wire is the oxygen sensor connector. is this right?

also, other things i want to know about.

what are these 4 dealy-o's? my air pump, ACV, sub zero assist are all off, and im gonna remove my EGR. which ones do i need, what do they do, and how should i remove any that i can remove?

what are these 4 things? and whats that plug thats not plugged in for?

what do these plugs go to? the green ones are diag. plugs right? the car runs fine but that one bullet connector plug from the coils isnt connected. should i be worried?

anyways...will update when more progress is made.

I don't understand you 02 question. Mate the beige one to the green one. That's about it.

I am not sure about the green connector, but the black bullet connector is for some sort of Mazda tester. Leave it unplugged.

FYI, from what I have heard every harness has plugs for every single option (outside of the turbo vs n/a junk) so don't worry if you find some plugs that are not connected.
