i was wondering if anyone know a good place to get a vert top im guessing the s4 and s5 are about the same i have 1000 Saved up for the top so i would like the whole top inside and out anyway if anyone knows just share the knowledge

 

look up victoriabritish.com (its something like that) they sell alot of restoration parts...carpets bolts brackets, etc.. thewy should have something

 

You actually want a S5 rear section, for the vert top. Although Mazda made a running change on the S4 tops, some are still available without the relief drains just rear of the doors.

As far as the targa section, you will want a S4 versions though, as the S5 version of the targa has rain channels, so the covering is different

I remember there was a post somewhere about a guy that would send you a reupholstered top that just bolted on, then you sent him your top to get the core charge back... does anyone remember what company that was?

Are the relief drains considered good? I have them on mine, and my top is tearing in what I imagine is the usual spot on these tops, right near them. I have to keep mine covered, or I am afraid that the liner inside will get wet and ruin it, making it imperative to replace it.

 

I just tried to out more on British Victoria. They may have it. but not online, so I have ordered the catalog in hopes that I may see more in the way of parts they have available for the RX-7. I don't know why it is not available online.

 

There is a company (maybe more than one) that provides tops to upholstery shops. If you check with a good upholstery shop, they should have that company's catalog. IIRC, my replacement top was $550 plus installation. That was about 6 years ago.

 

AA Best sells the front and rear section for $340, I see them selling the tops on ebay also for $300 + shipping

I have seen one in person on a customers car in the black cloth, very nice quality.

 

I got one of those aa best tops in the pinpoint vinyl. It is going on over the holidays, along with the new leatherseats.com upholstery kits.

I saw the aabest vinyl on a black 89 vert at a parts buddies place and it looked pretty good. Not an exact perfect copy of the oem, but looked pretty nice and the material quality looked outstanding. He said he had no trouble putting it on using the tutoral iin the faq, but it was time consuming.

 

My S5 had those drains right behind the doors and it slowly ripped at the same spot on both sides. I'm wondering what it would be like if those drain pockets weren't there.
