Lol, I was just thinking about my own 302 swap tonight. Stock exhaust + stroker kit + mild cam + aluminum GT40 heads + GT40 manifold = california smog legal 300+ HP & ft-lbs torque on demand, instantly, with no premix required, 87 octane fueled, 25+mpg freeway and no rebuilds for at least 100k miles. **** yeah! Turbo rotaries can't touch that with a 15 foot stick.

Oh yeah, handling doesn't change with an engine swap within 50 lbs. of the rotary and the same position in the engine bay. *giggles*

Why by an RX and put a v8 in it? Isnt the point of an RX a rotary engine? And you make 300 hp with a 5.0 I make 300 hp with a 1.3 Now how again can a rotary not touch that with a stick? As soon as someone shows me a v8 making 300 hp per 1.3L and gets better gas mileage and is streetable I'll change my mind. For the love of god arent there any rotary guys on here?

here's a link from FC3S Pro
http://fc3spro.com/TECH/FAQ/ZVK/zvk.html

"Mazda had gone from a "Twin Scroll" turbocharger to an "Indepedent Twin Scroll" turbocharger. The Zenki 13BT twin-scroll turbo used a flapper door on the turbo exhaust manifold to direct exhaust gases into one turbine passage or both turbine passages; the passages were asymmetrical. The Kouki 13BT independent twin-scroll turbo uses two independent exhaust gas passages from the rotor ports to the turbo exhaust manifold into the turbo turbine housing; it uses two symmetrical passages in the turbine housing.

The "Independent Twin Scroll" proved to be a superior design in terms of performance, as the powerband was widened. The Kouki 13BT turbo system design was also better for exhaust gas flow, as there were no abrupt turns or "ledges" that hindered smooth smooth flow."

here's a pic of the different manifolds--s4 on top, s5 on bottom

That's a pic of the turbos, not the manifolds. The two turbos are fundamentally the same. Both are twin-scroll turbos. It's the manifolds that are completely different. The S4's is a common manifold with a flap that can block off on scroll; the S5's is a fully divided manifold.

dude u really need to learn something and stop sounding like an ignoramus...... a 300hp rotary cant pass smog.......... a 300hp v8 can and also get better gas mileage(a newer v8)........... I'm a rotary fan too but i just happan to know a lil about american muscle

haha, yeah, there's no way a 300hp rotary will ever be as fast as a 300hp V8 and pass smog and get the same or better gas mileage. now there's a wet dream if i ever heard one.

and for goodness sakes, the 1.3L is only a rating and doesn't reflect the actual air consumption of the motor in relation to piston engines.
Piston Engine has HP / Liter
Rotary Engine has HP / RATED Liter

If you're going to compare the two motors, do it Apples2Apples.
