s4 turbo question

ok

the banjo fittings... they are lines for the coolant, right?
and the other ones, where i could stick my finger in and touch the shaft, thats for oil, right?

or did i have it mixed around?

also, does it matter which way the liquid flow? i am thinking the oil press out to put oil into the turbo, then dump it in the pan, and for coolant, have it go thru the turbo before it go thru the heater

You'd have to leave the heater to full hot all the time for that to work. Not good in Aug.

The coolant lines are on the sides; the oil lines are top and bottom. The FSM has pics that show this.

You need to rewrite that in English... Leave the lines as they are. They work fine that way.

oh alright.

jason

i meant, does it matter which way the oil flow into the turbo... it is a NA/turbo conversion, so i cant leave the lines as they are.... so i want to know if it matters if one of the oil hole is for the oil in or th eother is for oil in or both can be used for oil in, etc

It helps if you tell us these things at the beginning. That way you get the answer you want quicker...

The oil is gravity drained from the turbo, so the supply must be connected to the top and the drain to the bottom.
