s4 trans in s5 car

Recently had a trans shipped in because my s5 trans is toasted and it ended up being an s4 transmission. Since the mounts and cross members are different can I modify the s5 mount to fit the s4 trans and keep the s5 cross member or would it be easier to buy an s4 mount and crossmember. How much are they?

It'll bolt right up, just need a s4 cross member. But i believe you need to retain your s5 starter

I shall be coreected or confirmed eventually

You also might need to extend the wires on the trans. I can't remember if the s5 trans has longer wires or the s4 does....

My buddy used a s4 t2 on an s5 trans with no problem so I doubt you'll need a different starter.

For the time being I pressed the mount flat and cut it where it would fit in the crossmember. I guess I'll keep my eyes open until I find an s4 mount and cross member. I can't understand why Mazda swapped parts like that between series 4 and series 5. Thanks

Transmission design changes, ford loves doing it to every part on their vehicles and makes it pain to find the right one at times
