Yeah, it's called studding it or doweling it.

studding isnt necessary for 350 hp. If your gonna do anything put the s5 rear iron on.

wow thanks smartass!! the question was on an s4 block will a stud kit make it more prone to cracking an iron bc s4 blocks arent as reinforced and is their any way to reinforce it so tht it wont crack under high hp if I do pin it..?

So someone was supposed to guess that this was your question? You failed to mention any of that in your original post. Before jumping to conclusions and attacking people, try going back to make sure your post does not need a secret decoder ring.

Adding dowels is intended to strengthen an engine.

I just had my engine rebuilt('88 S4 T2) at Lucky & Racing, I'm picking it up next week. It has a street port with port match on my LIM.They replaced all of my housings with S5 irons and rotor housings, also S5 turbo rotors with flywheel and front counterweight. In fact the only S4 parts I'm getting back when I pick it up next week is the water pump housing and front cover, and manifold, of course.

I, too hope for 350ish hp. I'm told, just changing to the S5 rear iron is sufficient at that power level.
