the sunroof should be cleaned and regreased as well. the dual window relay fix for the power windows is the best alternative for slow/weak windows.

there is no easy fix for the sunroof, since all the electronics are under the headliner.

i clean my tracks periodically but the drains are all up under the headliner. it's a full day job to even attempt so i just use my hand to prop the sucker up and it works fine from there.

i haven't heard of any easy workarounds for the weak sunroof in the 10 years since i started working on them. maybe one day i will look into it, but likely not until i wind up ripping the interior out of my car to switch it to black, the grey is just worked over.

lol, that will happen when you set a 300lb block on some plastic.

it saves the switches and applies full amperage to the motors, they should work as well as when the car was brand new. in stock format the switch bridges the power junction, ALL the power to the windows goes across the old worn out 25 year old switch connections and they cause high resistance and amperage drops. the mod converts the switch to a low load control switch versus a power fed switch, this reduces the arcing and the relays do all the work and are designed to actually handle the job versus our window switches. virtually every car out there now has relays that do the job for any moderate electrical load, as failure prevention.

over time the switch contacts just get burnt out, requiring cleaning to work somewhat ok. even switches that looked perfect to me would not work, this avoids those situations.

I was messing around with the windows and found out that applying 12v + directly from the battery to the black wire coming off the switch will speed up the windows.

I just got a 88 and that sunroof would NOT go..seized up Like a Nun's thighs.
So,I take the time to rip the liner out,put up another one..CRAP..That one had tracks and cables gummed up too..Slid like an 80 year old going onto the interstate.
#3 was the Best..like Butter!..smooth.
So..My solution?..find a whole Shitload of sunroof assemblies and put in the Best one..LOL!
Windows?I went manual..
