s4 to s5 turbo swap

What is the advantage of putting a turbo from an s5 on a s4. Thanks and yes I have searched and you cant list s4 or s5 as key words.

Yeah I am dealing with that flapper now.. I just saw it the other day for the first time... I know it requires the Twin Scroll Soleniod to function properaly and it activates at 2700 rpm to reduce turbo lag... Apparently not a concern with an s5...

I put a BNR stage 3 on, I found a bad S5 turbo to have built into the hybrid. The main advantage is probably the manifold which if you look at it you can see that it easily will out flow the S4, and if you are wondering no you cannot put a S4 turbo on a S5 manifold. Otherwise the turbos looked pretty much the same from what I could see. The S5 wastegate is suppose to be better though but thats about all.

If you swap you need the turbo and manifold for it.
You will keep your oil return tube(different due to OMP on series)

The difference is in the hotside.
They divided the manifold and removed the twin scroll system. The ECU then took over using a boost control solenoid to help boost.

The hotside of the turbo then got a Dual opening wastegate to help aleviate the creeping the S4's are known to have.

If you get a S5 check the hotside housing by taking it off(6 12mm's i think)
Check for this crack. This crack means certain death.

I have been wondering this question myself as well. So to set things straight what are the exact part needed to make the switch? Just the manifold and the turbo itself? My S4 Turbo took a dump and died basically half boost at 5k rpm WOT. It has some wicked shaft play. So is it just the manifold and the turbo I am going to need to make the switch?
