My starter is broken, looking for a used one, found one from a '86, I have a '90

i THINK they are the same... but the TII's are different from the n/a.. or is that backwards?

NO! wait. i think the only starters that differ from each other are the automatics and the standards...

All 5sp N/A starters work on all other 5sp N/A cars.

All automatic N/A starters work on other automatics

All T2 starters work with all Turbo2s..

Actually Im pretty sure that an auto starter will work in a Turbo2 as well.. They are not the "same", but I *think* it will work. I was advised against putting a T2 starter in a autp, since the motor might not be strong enought to crank the engine over..

auto and manual are not interchangable.
I know that much.
