Quick question on this subject... if you were to put a s5 body kit on a s4 with s5 trim, would the trim lines line up.

if the body kit and trim are for the s5 then the answer is yes the lines will/should match up.

I used 3M professional trim adhesive tape. It's something like 26 dollars for a roll (takes two rolls to do the entire car) but it has a higher grade of adhesive and durability then the OEM trim tape that 3M sells to GM, Honda, etc. It's also, like the factory stuff, designed to be removable if done properly (peeled at a 90* angle from the adhered surface). If you properly prep the surfaces, it's NOT coming off unless you want it to; it CAN be removed without destroying your paint though.

If you shop around, it can be found decently priced (I got it bulk from an online shop for something like 35 bucks for 6 rolls, about 80% off retail)

edit: A thicker foam core on the tape (there are different thicknesses) will help to cover any surface imperfections and can allow a stronger bond also. Obviously, this is within reason.

ProForm also makes a good twoface tape....more "economy" priced than the 3M stuff.....we use it here at the shop

But the biggest thing is cleanign and degreasing before you apply the tape......do it twice.

As far as extra adhesion goes, a few dots of windshield urethane never hurt anybody, its good insurance.
