S4/S5 engine swap befuddlement
I'm hoping to swap my tired old 88 'vert S4 NA with a TII engine. I've perused this list and archives until my peruser is sore, read the FC FAQ multiple times, and thought I had digested the RotaryResurrection tech TII swap page, but I still have a (probably dumb) question.
To quote Kevin Landers' excellent writeup: "IF you have an 86-88 (s4) car, you need to obtain all 87-88 matching turbo II stock parts for use in the car.".
BUT, does this ONLY apply to an "engine only" swap? Is it relatively easy to use an S5 J-spec donor car if I'm using the entire S5 drive train and ECU, with some minor electrical modifications (including a LH-drive electrical harness), or am I opening an ugly can of worms by not using 87-88 TII S4 inards?
Thanks!

Major pain in the *** to use the S5 ECU/electronics in the S4 car. If you are going to do this, either go standalone or use the S4 electronics to run the S5 engine (still a bit of a pain, but much less...).
