s4 running like **** wont idle

my buddies 86 n/a is being a pain in the ***. as of this morning its starting hard, wont idle and runs spudders when driven. not really any power loss once driving it though.

it has 3 even strong pulses on each rotor, the oil is clear, the coolant is clean. so im pretty sure the motor isnt blown.

good spark all around, fresh plugs, all the sensors are plugged in, no obvious vaccum leaks, fuel pump is good, FP filter is clean, havent changed the fuel filter but thats next on the list. ground wires seem to be good.

the only other thing this car does is smoke alot the first time you take off after parking it for a little while, but its always done that.

any ideas?

Compression test it.
3 Pulses is just a guess without having a real compression tester to tell you what is going on internally.

Is this car stock? Mine puffs out smoke once in a while when I cold start it, but that is normal.

Any color to the smoke?

TPS Adjusted properly?

apparently the previous owner messed with all emissions lines and they werent quite right, along with using regular vacuum line to connect the omp lines to the oil injectors, which just swelled up and started leaking all over the place. problem solved, car runs better than ever and doesnt smoke anymore. people who dont know what they're doing, need to not **** around with these cars. haha

Regular vacuum lines for the oil injectors?! Wtf... I guess that explains the smoking. Glad you solved your problem.

yeah someone must not have been smart enough to correctly remove the lines from the LIM and just cut them, and slipped reg vacuum lines over both ends thinking that would be alright. the smoking was actually being caused by the vacuum side of one oil injector not being pulled from the vacuum splitter and instead strait off of the manifold. its great now and barely smokes at all, prob juts still burning out the crazy amounts of oil it was being fed.
