s4 power mirror motor removal

has anyone had to change these motors? i have the miror in my hands, with all the screws out, and the metal piece that bolts to the door will not detach from the plastic shell. i don't want to pull too hard of course, i don't feel like snapping it. it sure feel like there is a mechanical latch or something in there. any ideas? search came up with nothing.

thanks but it looks like the s4 power mirrors are a different setup. plus, the stupid screws are rusted, i''m thinkin this might be a lost cause.

stupid phillips screws, i'd like to find this "phillip" and punch him in the face.

I think the mounting of the unit is the same; only the plastic body is different plus the shape of the glass itself. But of course if the screws are rusted that's another problem. If you have to give it up, i have a set off a S4 GXL, like new that i could sell you for cheap.

Yea, Phillips screws are stupid. Robertson is light years ahead!
