S4 NA to Turbo Swap
I just orderd a S4 13BT along with the tranny, now other then the obvious replacement parts, such as radiator hoses, spark plugs, v-belts and the exhaust downpipe and complete exhuast piping along with the cat. Is there anything else major that i need to replace under the hood wise such as the coils, radiator itself, ect... anything and everything other then what i mentioned please do tell lol. theres really no mazda specialty places especialy ones for rotary engines around my area that would know too much about it.
thanks.
thanks.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the transmission attach bracket is diffent on a non turbo transmission vs a turbo transmission.
You need a Turbo pressure sensor and afm plus the turbo ECU. Some don't do that. How? Got me.
Then you need a hood with the cutout for the intercooler that should be attached to the engine.

im just wondering what they are so i can go ahead and buy them while waiting for the engine to come in.
well guys i am in the middle of the same swap. it appears that you need both the downpipe and midpipe to connect to the catalytic converter. the driveshaft, diff and axles are another good upgrade. if you aquire all of those pieces it becomes a bolt in affair. the intake tube (either stock tid or make your own) the fuel pump is another swap. modify the stock n/a harness, (im sure hailers can assist with that as i am using his guidance for that!)
well i dont think im going to be putting this thing in myself, since it is a s4, the thing im mainly concerned about is the fact its a JDM engine. everyone i talked to thus far have told me the JDM 13BT and the USDM 13BTII is practicly the same. even went to a mazda place told me the same thing. but i would like to get your guys input on this. is it the same? other then the re-wiring for the s4 in some spots is it basicly just a bolt-on and go type engine?

if its a S4 you need the sensor and most people completly forget all about it. :/
