A few minor questions. '88 FC SE

Ok guys, been spending some time searching your archives, reading up on the FCs. In all honesty, I know nothing about the Rx7. I'm a Mazdahead, but I don't know much about rotaries and even less about the chassis. So, I bought an '88 Rx7 SE, 4 lug, no options, bare bones. It was cheap and clean, and I didn't want to wait for a TurboII in my price range to come around. That said, a few questions so far:

1. Can I swap my hubs out for the 5 lug spindles?

2. Can I swap the 4 pot TurboII calipers as well?

I ask because the 5 lug cars have many more brake options it seems.

3. Can I put a TII LSD in my car? Or are there N/A LSD rear ends I can get my hands on?

This might all be right in front of me, and I'm just skipping over it, but if somebody wanted to enlighten this n00b, I'd appreciate it

Thanks!

yea i have the an 88 n/a se too.. jus got it this year..

for question 1, yea ive seen a bunch of posts on it and ppl do the 5 lug swap including the 4pots all the time. i actually have the set and the stock 5 lug rims with tires and i got it for 100 bucks. im also a noob and i wanna learn to do it.. but right now im looking for an oil cooler with oil cooler lines cuz mine are leaking.. so im putting that project aside for now..

as far as the LSD, im pretty sure it can be done. but i know that its expensive if u dont do it urself - i think its not an easy project.

for the front you need the spindles and calipers and i think brackets(i havent taken a 4 piston caliper off yet so im not sure on that), that and the brake lines you need to swap. Basically, everything bolted onto the steering knuckle.

For the back just take out the 3 bolts that hold the knuckle in place + brake lines and swap it out, easiest that way.

Then you can swap the brake booster, and im not sure but i think the proportioning valve is interchangeable too.

Well, i guess perhaps it'd be a good idea to search.

As far as the T2 lsd, you can find that all in the t2 swap thread in the faq.

You can get the lsd from an N/A.

You should:

1: Use this site to your advantage! Don't search --Research What you want to do. Just read what others post in this section and you will learn much about your car.

2:BUY A FSM read it-learn it-love it.

3. Try to find someone in your city who knows rx7's to give you a hand or atleast show you what to do.

I think part of my problem is not really knowing what words to search with. I'm getting lost in this sites archives!

Looks like the Miata LSD is a good choice, otherwise I can hook up a GXL (right??) rearend for a clutch-type LSD.

I still can't find what I'm looking for on the brakes. Using wrong search words again maybe?

Thanks guys.
