s4 n/a to s5 turboII conversion (what do i need ? what can I keep and use ?) help !!
I might be getting an s5 turboII complete longblock with all accessories, wiring harness and ecu ... Is this all I need for wiring to start it up ??? Or will I need to replace more than just the engine harnesses ?
Main concern being the wiring going to the fusebox , will that plug and play or is it all different on my s4 n/a ? Just wondering what I will need, im not exactly rich so im trying to find the cheapest way to do everything , but i want to do it the right way. I really dont know anyone that has this conversion so I figured id ask

The S4 and S5 wiring harnesses are not compatible, so a lot of custom wiring is needed. Much easier to start with a S5 car to begin with (or get a S4 turbo motor for your car)

you don't have to splice the harness..
if its accessable at all. you should try to get the dash and rest of the car wiring and just make your car wired as an S5 as i did.
i've had no issues except for the door harness' and sunroof harness that i'm looking for, that is also needed.
Is this S5 engine set-up a j-spec? if so, you might be going down a short dead-end road. Haven't you looked into using S4 peripherals instead?

well, the alternator wires are different. on the S5's they are on the ecu's wiring. on the s4's they run with the driver's side wiring. things like the brake booster i think are a little different(pressure for the checkvalve). you DON'T have to mess with your driver's side harness.
i disagree with the whole "just buy another car". where's the fun in that?
besides a few MINOR things, everything should just be plug and play. i'm doing an S4 na>S5 TII swap right now. it's much easier if you can go standalone, but then again, you have the TII ecu, etc.
